What is Audience Is Me?

Audience Is Me is a place for me to write, research, record, comment, play, explore, practice writing (I'm a little rusty).

Why just me?

For the moment, I want to explore and play. I don't want to build an audience. I don't want to be involved in social media and social networks. I'm not anti-social. I just want this to be a happy place, a safe place, not a doomscrolling crack dungeon (nod to the Dungeon Crawler) that the Internet has become.

I don't want to rate, like, or amass viewers – at least not yet. I don't want to mess with subscriptions, newsletters or compete in today's blogosphere or whatever the content "creator-sphere" is spewing these days.

I have project ideas in mind and Audience Is Me is a good place to work on them, creating brain dumps, briefs, visualizations, documentation, whatever is needed. At this time, Audience Is Me is a place to . . .

  • make sense of all the medical stuff I've been doing for the last 10+ years . . . working with dad, mom, and my own medical issues
  • continue defining (and using) a Medical "base" I created for myself that I use for analysis and communication with doctors and providers; this includes the Daily Health Report and the Daily Health Log
  • define how my medical base nudged this idea: MyMedical Base, which could become an app, a service, a combination app/service/physical product . . . I have no idea yet (still need to talk with J Kyle and Chip).
  • possibly write about consumer health devices and technology . . . I've been working with this stuff for more than 10 years, even longer if I include the chest straps, watches, and sensors I used while cycling years ago
  • possibly write about medical caregiving, my own experiences with it, getting older, preparing for end of life . . .

Warning:
I will include other interests here that some people won't care about, but that's OK. The audience, for now, is just me. In no particular order:

  • soccer/football (St. Louis CITY)
  • baseball (beloved St. Louis Cardinals)
  • music (jazz, Tool, Radiohead, Tom Waits, and on and on)
  • books, movies, TV, art
  • science, medical, health
  • tech
  • dogs
  • food
  • Austin

I will stay away from politics and cultural bullshit because I'm sick and tired of the rancor, the hate, the mistrust, and the fucking stupidity that is America today.
